Nokia Developer Newsletter confirms Nokia Lumia 900 March release

Thanks to Paul Thurrott we have been expecting the Nokia Lumia 900 to be released in March this year.  Nokia and Microsoft has however been very coy at CES, only talking in vague terms of ‘next few months’.

Now the official Nokia Developer Newsletter has blown the secret, confirming that the handset is expected in March this year.  Paul Thurrott pinned it down more specifically to March 18th, which would be the third Sunday of the month.

Unfortunately similar leaks have not accompanied the HTC Titan II, so we do not know when Nokia’s main Windows Phone LTE competitor will be hitting the network, but it is rumoured that it may be sooner than the Lumia 900.

MTS Ukraine launches multicards to recharge mobile accounts

The mobile operator "MTS Ukraine," said the sales of the first in Ukraine "Multicard" to recharge mobile accounts with the format "Multicard 2 in 1". In addition to convenience for customers, as the operator, its design provides a reduction in paper use in the production of vouchers.

Vodafone: “No plans to offer Sony Xperia S”

Vodafone has revealed to SoMobile that it has no plans to offer the new Sony Xperia S smartphone.

O2 and Three may have been quick to snap-up the first Sony-branded smartphone, but it’s not such good news for Vodafone customers. The network has told us that it is “not currently planning to include the device in our line up”. Of course, Voda’s plans may change before the phone’s March release, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Launched at Sony’s CES press conference, the Sony Xperia S managed to set tongues-wagging with its impressive features and lack of Ericsson branding. One of the phone’s main selling-points is undoubtedly its 4.3-inch HD display, which boasts an impressive 720 x 1280 resolution.

It’s also Sony’s debut dual-core smartphone, clocking in at a decent 1.5GHz. Unfortunately however this comes paired with Android 2.3, although a bump to ICS has already been confirmed for later in the year.

Other specs include; a 12 megapixel camera with Exmor R sensor and 1080p HD video, a front-facing HD videocall shooter, HDMI and DLNA media sharing, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, and either 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage.

On the 10th of January, we announced four new Xperia™ smartphones – Xperia™ ion, Xperia™ S, Xperia™ acro HD and Xperia™ NX. SAMSUNG to Offer Verizon FiOS TV App on Smart TVs and Smart Blu-ray Players in 2012

App Will Allow FiOS TV Customers to View Live Multichannel HD TV and Verizon Flex View On-Demand Content on Connected Samsung Devices
LAS VEGAS – Verizon and Samsung Electronics America Inc. announced on Thursday (Jan. 12) that Samsung will be the first consumer electronics manufacturer to commercially introduce the Verizon FiOS TV App to its line of Smart TVs and Smart Blu-ray Players in 2012.

The app will allow Verizon FiOS TV subscribers to instantly access 26 live HD TV channels directly through the subscribers’ connected Samsung Smart TV or Smart Blu-ray Player. No additional hardware is required. Users will also have access to more than 10,000 video-on-demand titles available through Verizon Flex View – the company’s anytime, anywhere on-demand entertainment service for TVs, PCs, tablets and smartphones.
