JSC "Russian Railways" OJSC "MegaFon", JSC "highway" and OOO "Russian Tower" signed a memorandum on cooperation in the development of voice services and wireless Internet access to passengers on trains JSC "Russian Railways". Concluded agreement applies to the entire railway network of JSC "RZD" for high-speed trains and long distance. In the first phase of its implementation is planned to construct a modern telecommunications infrastructure in the areas Buslovskaya (state border with Finland) - St. Petersburg - Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod. Compositions "Peregrine Falcon" will be equipped with special equipment to amplify the signal will be upgraded train network Wi-Fi. In accordance with the signed agreement the equipment will be transferred to the management of MegaFon. The result of this work will be to ensure continuous coverage due to the 3G standard on all transit trains and the ability to use the Internet in a Wi-Fi trains "Peregrine." To ensure continuous coverage MegaFon allocates 123 new base stations 2G/3G. This will be fifth (20%) of all mobile stations, providing coverage data of railway tracks. At the same time 88 of them will be placed on special antenna-mast structures (AMC). Construction of the AMC 39 located in the ROW of railways, is OOO "Russian Tower." As a result, passengers traveling by rail from the Finnish-Russian border to Nizhny Novgorod, will be provided with communication services and high speed Internet access in UMTS technology in familiar large for the 3G network MegaFon speeds throughout the trip, as if they were your own home or office. High-speed trains "Peregrine Falcon" will be equipped with special transponders signals cellular GSM / UMTS (repeaters) to the sustainability of coverage in the "radionepronitsaemyh" wagons, designed for high speeds, as well as equipment for wireless transmission of data within the rolling stock (WLAN). OOO "Russian Tower" in the framework of this cooperation will create infrastructure mast antenna structures to ensure quality network coverage along the railway, and including the effective development of new lines of communication.
