Toshiba announces 10.1-inch Android tablet, the Folio 100 Tube. Duration : 1.73 Mins.

Toshiba has joined in tablet race at the IFA conference with the introduction of the Folio 100, a 10.1-inch Android powered device. Marco Perino, GM, Digital Life Products and Services, Toshiba, introduced Toshiba's latest generation of tablet devices, Folio 100. In his speech he said that Folio 100 sports a multi touch screen and features an ultra slim, full flat design for a perfect stay in your hands for hours. Like the Samsung Galaxy Tab, the Folio 100 also includes a front facing camera for video conferences. And since it runs Android 2.2, it supports Flash 10.1, something the iPad does not. At first the Folio 100 will use Wifi to connect to the internet, but will soon also be equipped with 3G. The tablet comes equipped with Toshiba's own marketplace, which will include music, applications and radio channels. Inside the tablet, there's an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and 16 GB of built in storage which can be expanded using an SD card. The battery should last for up to seven hours. The overall larger size of the Folio 100 comes at a cost though. It weighs 760 grams or about a pound and a half, that's double the weight of the Galaxy Tab. The Folio 100 will be available during the 4th quarter of 2010 throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Wifi version will cost about 399 Euro or 510 US dollars.
